Each made a solid commitment to funding public education while the House and Senate offered their initial budget proposals, each reflecting that commitment. It's a far cry from the beginning of the last legislative session two years ago when divisive public restroom restrictions, cracking down on undocumented immigrants, and sweeping abortion restrictions topped the agenda.
