President Donald Trump and former Rep. Beto O'Rourke held dueling rallies in El Paso trading jabs over the idea of more physical barriers along the international boundary with Mexico.
After the rallies, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said that not only was O'Rourke's political career ended by the day's events, but he went on to argue that if not for a fence along the Rio Grande, heads would roll in pool halls and bodies would hang from bridges.
Meantime, there's building frustration at the Texas Capitol with the backlog of untested rape kits around the state and some rural lawmakers believe there's a "pay for play" scheme unfolding. Ryan has the details.
